Uncontested divorce can work for some couples

An uncontested divorce can take place if both sides agree upon the basics of the divorce as well as other negotiations. This type of divorce saves both time and money for everyone involved because the court procedures involved are comparatively easy. The major issues in divorce cases are property, child custody, child support and divorce parameters. It is rare that both sides agree upon all these, but if they do, an uncontested divorce is the way to go.

All couples who have no disagreements regarding their divorce are eligible for uncontested divorce. For an uncontested divorce, one spouse must file for divorce so that the streamlined process can begin. Once all the information is provided to the court and both sides agree upon the negotiations, divorce is granted.

The major benefit of uncontested divorces is cost savings. Both sides do not require expensive attorneys because the procedure is easy and designed to be expedited in a timely fashion. It allows both spouses to move on quickly and easily after the divorce, without the hassle of going through lengthy proceedings in court. However, if any sort of conflict arises while the uncontested divorce proceedings are taking place, matters can become complex and time-consuming. If it gets to a point where the two sides cannot agree with each other, there is no point of continuing with the uncontested divorce because it will not be granted.

If you and your spouse are thinking of getting a divorce, you should consider discussing all your options with an experienced attorney. The attorney will elaborate your best options and help you achieve the desired objective.
